FyleTools uses WebAssembly (WASM) technology to process all your files directly in your browser. This means:

• Your files never leave your device
• No data is uploaded to any server
• No file content is stored, logged, or analyzed
• Processing happens entirely in your browser's memory

Our processing engine is written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly. When you use any tool, the WASM module runs in your browser's sandbox — the same security model that protects your banking sessions. Open your browser's DevTools Network tab while using FyleTools — you'll see that no file data is ever transmitted.

FyleTools collects minimal data. Your files are never collected or transmitted. The only data we may process is:

• Basic navigation data (IP address, browser type, session duration) for security and fraud prevention purposes
• Language and theme preferences stored locally in your browser
• Voluntary tool ratings you choose to submit
• We do not use analytics trackers, third-party cookies, or require registration

In accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spain's Organic Law 3/2018 on Data Protection (LOPDGDD), the legal bases for processing are:

• Legitimate interest: basic navigation logs for security and fraud prevention (retained for 1 year)
• Consent: when you voluntarily submit a tool rating or contact us
• Legal obligation: data retention required by applicable law (up to 5 years)

Under the GDPR (Articles 15-21), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your data ('right to be forgotten')
• Right to restriction — limit how we process your data
• Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Right to object — oppose processing based on legitimate interest

Navigation logs for security purposes are retained for a maximum of 1 year. Data related to legal obligations is retained for up to 5 years as required by law. Your files are never stored — they exist only in your browser's memory during processing and are discarded when you close the page.

FyleTools uses only essential technical cookies required for the website to function correctly (language preference, theme setting). No tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies are used. No consent banner is required because we do not use non-essential cookies.

Don't take our word for it. Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12), go to the Network tab, and process a file. You'll see zero outbound data transfers containing your file content.
